Chasing God through Psychodelics
SAT CHIT ANANDA Loosely translated means truth, consciousness, and bliss — the truth of the reality of connection to all things, including our creator. It’s finding true bliss in that conscious state.
I’ve spoken to people who’ve had near death experiences, as well as having my own experiences. I’ve been present for the passing of loved ones.
In that split second, I have seen peace. And people who’ve experienced this speak of a type of peace that is unlike anything they’ve experienced before.
Words do not come close to that feeling.
That is Sat Chit Ananda — to simply be.
Quiet the mind and simply be.
There are few folks who’ve been able to get to that state of meditation and stay there for a moment. I’ve been lucky enough to meet many illuminated or awakened folks, and that is a great thing. If you ever meet someone who has truly been to Sat Chit Ananda, you’ll know it instantly when you see them. You’ll feel that peace.
Just imagine for one moment in your life experiencing no time, no fear, no suffering, no pain, and no worries about the past or future.
Imagine not thinking about who or what you should or shouldn't be
Imagine not being attached to what defines you — your name, your job, your spouse or your other relations. This is why we say, “just be here now.”
That is the first step, no need to keep the mind stimulated or try to quiet it.
And when it comes to using psychotropic drugs to reach that same state of peace?
Distracting the mind with various techniques or substances only gives you a peek, as Baba Ram Dass said. You can only get a glimpse of heaven or euphoria from altering your consciousness, but you can't stay there.
Instead of chasing spiritual enlightenment outside of yourself, put your effort into discovering the very essence of you. Get still. Be here now.
If you get even a second of Sat Chit Ananda, it can change your life forever.
It’s a place very few have truly been. But it’s there.
